Richard (Ricky) Lamont Hughes Sr, 40 of Kansas City, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at North Kansas City Hospital. Richard Sr, was born on April 24, 1975 in Kansas City, Missouri to Richard Hill Jr and Debra Hughes. Richard attended and graduated from Center High School in Kansas City, Mo where he was a decorated All-State Athlete. He went on to attend college where he pursued a degree in Education.
Richard resided in Kansas City, Mo with his companion Mary Johnson. He had a passion for educating and helping the youth and as an adult he became a teacher by profession with aspirations of seeking a career in the medical field later in life. He was an avid sports fan who loved and supported all of the local professional teams, but he had a special passion for watching college basketball. \\\\\\\"Ricky\\\\\\\" was the ultimate people person who \\\\\\\"never met a stranger\\\\\\\". His personality, charisma, and smile would light up any room he was in and there was never a dull moment when he was around. He will be remembered most of all for his unconditional love for his family. The greatest joy in his life were his children for which he was a proud and devoted father.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather\\\\\\\'s Curtis E. Hughes and Richard Hill Sr.; Grandmother Patricia Thompson; Father Richard Hill Jr.
He was survived by his Mother, Debra Hughes; Grandmother Lena Mae Bruster, two daughters; Masha\\\\\\\'ir Atallah Hughes, Zarriah Valentine Hughes; Son Richard Lamont Hughes Jr.; Three Sisters Lawanna Martin, Shaunte Thompson and Lashay Thompson; . Seven Uncles, Five Aunts, Five nephews, Three nieces and a host of cousins, loved ones, family and friends.
