Frederick (Freddy) Garcia passed away Friday, August 2, 2013 quietly in his sleep at the age of 63 in Phoenix, AZ. After a two month, valiant battle with liver cancer, Freddy was called home to the Lord. Freddy was born on May 14, 1951 in Deming, NM. Fred was married for two years to Daisy Garcia prior to his passing. His death was preceded by the deaths of his parents, Felipe and Josie Garcia and the deaths of his brother, Felipe Garcia, Jr. and sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Patricia Garcia. Fred is survived by his wife, Daisy, his brother, Arthur Garcia, and sister, Irene DeLano. Where he lacked in having children of his own, he made up for with his nieces and nephews: Paul Garcia (deceased), Felipe Garcia III, Andrea Merchant, Christopher Vigueria, Christa McKirchy, Raquel Vigueria, Genevieve Garcia, and Kelly Garcia. Fred enjoyed gardening, spending time with his rescued dogs and birds, smoking a great cigar, traveling to Rocky Point with his wife, and watching sporting events. Fred was known for his beautiful smile, great dance skills, and playing pitcher for the Bagdad High School (AZ) baseball team. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran his landscaping business in Phoenix, AZ until the end. Fredís family is comforted that Fred will be met at the river crossing by his beloved dogs, Sandy and Chato.
