April Showers
February 11, 1965   -   April 23 , 2013

Obituary posted by : Marsha Williams ,  Aunt
Person Description:
April Ann Williams Showers, 47 years old, died peacefully on April 23, 2013 at home in Lynnwood, Washington, after a long illness. April was born February 11, 1965 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Betty Williams.
April enjoyed athletics and the outdoors. She learned to swim at the age of 5 and began riding horses at 6. She won a few swim awards in high school. She continued to enjoy swimming and horseback riding throughout her life. Her family moved to Seattle when April was 10 years old. April loved the Pacific Northwest and chose to stay here when her parents moved back to Cedar Rapids in 1983.
In 1986, April married the love of her life, Arnold P. Showers. Mr. Showers worked as a chef in Seattle until their divorce in 1996, then he moved to Oregon.
Though April had no children, she loved them and she taught swim lessons and volunteered at the community pool. She rode horses whenever she could and had plans to own a horse one day, but then she became ill and decided to wait.
April was active in her church and volunteered her time at local shelters whenever she could.
April is survived by her sister, Amy Jackson and husband Tom; her former husband, Arnie Showers; parents Michael and Betty Williams; four nieces and two nephews; numerous Aunts and Uncles; and a number of close friends.
There will be a private memorial service at her parents home in Cedar Rapids.

My deepest sympathies to April\'s family. I know this is a shock, even though she was sick for so long. You all are in my prayers.
April, you\'re one of the dearest people I\'ve ever had the honor to know. The world is a smaller place today, without you. I wish there were more people like you! I\'ll always love you and miss you. Rest in Peace, dear friend. <3
